As part of the project “Happy Islands – Ecological Cities of the Future,” we hosted an architect who told us about her extraordinary work. We learned how building designs are created — from the first ideas and sketches all the way to finished constructions. She showed us that modern houses can be beautiful, functional, and environmentally friendly.
We talked about ecological solutions such as green roofs, solar panels, rainwater tanks, and houses built from natural materials. We understood that each of us can influence what the world around us looks like — even through small decisions.
And then… it was time for action! In the spirit of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math), we combined knowledge and creativity:
-
as engineers, we designed the structure of our cardboard houses,
-
as artists, we gave them shape, color, and character,
-
as scientists, we tested which parts of the construction were the strongest,
-
as ecologists, we thought about how to make our houses friendly to nature.
We created fascinating buildings. Each project was unique, just like our ideas and dreams about the future.
